Inspired by ... Jimmy Stanton

Jimmy Stanton is a talented interior designer and the owner of Stanton Home Furnishings with two locations in Atlanta. Stanton is everywhere you look these days... designing for show homes in Atlanta, assisting design clients, and running his successful furniture and design accessory business. All you have to do is open a recent copy of Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles or Country Living and most likely you will find Stanton. Even Jimmy's dog Terry is famous!

Stanton Home Furnishing is a must stop venue and a visual treat for home furnishing enthusiasts. Stanton's vision is "incorporating transitional items with unique and found objects."

Inspired by .... Katie Belveal

I am fortunate to have known Katie Belveal for years, as we started out together as showroom managers for America's Mart. Katie stayed and continued to work her way up in the Portman organization and I left to pursue my interior design degree. I was thrilled when I found out that Kaite was going to be the new General Manager of Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. One because it meant that I would get to see her more often, but most of all, because she is an energetic, passionate person who I know will be ADAC's biggest asset.

ADAC houses over 60 showrooms and 1,200 product lines within it's 550,000 square foot space.

Katie's ability to keep things running smoothly while managing the best Atlanta has to offer in design is inspiring.

Recently ADAC has opened to the public and while purchasing is still to the trade only, the general public can now visit ADAC and view all of the incredible products available to the interior design community.

Katie is an inspiration to me and I feel privileged that she shared her inspiration with us...

1. What is your most prized possession, what you can't live without? It's not a prized possession, but I cannot live without my BlackBerry. Just kidding, that's just sad. My most prized possession is my golden retriever, Dixie.

2. What is your last purchase? A Kitchen Aid stand-alone mixer. It's the holidays and the perfect time to own one!

3. What is the easiest way to update a space? Paint or fabric. I love color and pattern, so that's an easy one for me.

4. What would you say is the color of the moment? I like lavender right now.

5. If you could shadow a designer for any day who would it be? Billy Baldwin

6. Favorite restaurant ... STK in the Meatpacking District of NYC

New York Magazine

7. What store/ catalog could you spend hours browsing in? BCBG for clothes. ADAC, of course, for the home!

8. What is your favorite way to spend a lazy Sunday? Drinking coffee on my sofa with a book. I try to spend a little time every Sunday being lazy with a book.

9. Marilyn, Audrey, or Jackie? Jackie for her sophistication and class, as well as dress.

10. What’s the most inspiring thing you’ve seen lately? IFDA (International Furnishings and Design Association) recently held their Angel Tree event at the Duralee showroom in ADAC which matches children in need with sponsors for the holidays. IFDA ran out of Angels at the start of the event and started a waiting list for people who didn't get an Angel. It was such a nice kickoff to the holiday season knowing how many people were eager to help make children happy this holiday.
